While staying in a cabin in the Redwoods, I was looking out the window one morning and saw this fascinating old man walking his dog past our cabin. I dashed outside and struck up a conversation and eventually asked if I could take his picture. He graciously agreed. Sony 24-70GM II.
Leica 50/2 Summicron-R E55. 8th century sacred site - it's (the dark arts hitman) Guru Rinpoche's meditation cave at Sheldrak. The temple repair and its access road was funded by the authorities not too long back. Goats are drinking from the toilet (#1) as very little water in winter at 4500m. Integration of structures and hillside for stability and earthquake protection (#2). The view back, 1000 metres down to the Yarlung Valley (#3).

Nothing remotely epic or exciting about either photo - but the mountains will soon be wearing white, and I love the subtle color shift that happens in the fall amongst the rock, grass and trees.
