Olympus OM Zuiko 40/2 is a special lens.It renders somehow more saturated and crisper images compared to my other Zuikos. The lens is sharp, small, pretty fast and probably the most versatile of them all.Has some corner smearing/vignetting wo and veiling around high contrast areas wide open, but at f4-5.6 the IQ turns excellent.Street photography is something it was designed for,I believe:
A7+Zuiko 40/2 at f2.0
OM 40/2 focuses down to 30cm,so can serve as a decent close up lens (A7,at f2.0):
I haven't tried it yet for landscape, but I admit it should be good at that as well.
BTW:The oof blurr is nice too.
I've got a few of those in my pond, one has foot/claws as large as my hand...real prehistoric looking creatures. I also learned where the term 'snapping' came from...
Ronny, your macros are as always breathtaking. I could not believe that they are almost all handheld and oc with no AF. I suppose it needs a lot of practice.
Gregg: I again countered your Hawaii with Heidelberg - H/H so to say want a switch?
Michiel: Great beach!
This thread is really outstanding so i should have mentioned all others as well - exceptional pics
Gregg; seems like you have hard time in Hawaii ..lie under the palm trees and lifting the beer glass and snap some shots
I wish it was that easy!! My 7 year old never stops...he's in the water non-stop( does the same at home in Santa Cruz, except the ocean in Hawaii is 15 degrees warmer!)...so I'm body surfing or boogie boarding(going to teach him to surf this week!)...and my 2 1/2 yr old is a little more mellow, and not quite into the ocean like his bro(he prefers the pool!), so between the two, I rarely get to sit down at the beach. BUT...I wouldn't change it for the world!! Gregg: I again countered your Hawaii with Heidelberg - H/H so to say want a switch?
Maaaaybe....summer in Germany was WAY better than winter, or even spring! When I was stationed in Bad Kissingen, during spring, I experienced all four seasons within a couple of hours of each other!!
I do miss it though...
Here are a couple shots processed on my iPhone 5s with Snapseed app...

Nice Ronny! Almost biblical! Looks like you used a shift lens but probably PP.
Thanks Michiel .. was sitting higher up on a cliff and shot down towards the rocks .
Any opinions on here about the FD 35mm 2.8 TS? There's one for sale locally and the guy is asking $800 USD. It has the brass ed mika on it and looks to be in good shape from the pictures. Was thinking about selling my FE 35/2.8 and buying the TS. (I never use the FE 35).
Not sure what the going rate is but it's a very good lens. I have 2 of them. For use on the Sony you don't need the edmika adapter (unless you own Canon SLR as well) so I'd consider waiting for a native one to come along and pay a bit less. I don't own the FE so I can't compare, but AF and T/S both have their uses.
I think I posted these a while ago, some lightpainting with moderate tilt and shift

Those are awesome! I think I'm going to hold off on the TS. The seller doesn't have the original mounting kit and doesn't seem to know anything about photography or lenses. I think he may have bought it at an auction and then checked ebay prices. I usually feel a lot better when a person selling lenses at least sounds like they know what they're talking about.
I'll get a TS lens one of these days, and may just wait until there is an FE version. Thanks for the reply though!
We have a lot of old pumps and compressors/turbines/motors where I work, but unfortunately, can't take pictures of them without bypassing UV and Halon detection systems. Would be fun to try sometime!
Thanks...
Based on Sony's lens track record I doubt if they'll make one but Samyang/Rokinon now offer the 24mm T/S in E mount at about the same price as the ebay lens you mentioned.
Nice shots Alaskandood. Love machine and industrial pics!
Been shooting with the FE 70-200 f4 OSS, and while it's much smaller than the Canikon versions, and it's also quite sharp, it misses focus quite often!! Even when there is only one main subject....nevertheless...here is a portrait taken of Gio at the beach @5.6 with CPL
Gregg
Maybe I should send this to Old Navy....transferred via Sony app no PP at all
