The old copper mine town Røros. We had been driving all day and still had a long way to go, so I only had time to snap a few shots while walking from our car to a restaurant.
Some time this fall or winter I plan to go there again on a dedicated photography day trip.

I've gotten used to shooting with just the a7R4 and small lenses like Loxia. Taking out the much larger Canon zoom with Sigma adapter was very noticeably heavier. But versatility and IQ are also important! I've been noticing some great shots with the newer Sony 16-35/4 PZ -- perhaps down the line that could replace a few larger, heavier pieces on the wide end. Always something better out there, right?

Contax 100/3.5. 7694m Gurla Mandhata, number 34 in the world's mountain elevation hierarchy. The first ascent of the peak was by a joint Japanese/Chinese team via the north side of the peak, in May 1985. Very often enveloped in cloud amid bad weather, its massif is unattractive but its presence is undeniable. Unusually, you can get quite close to this giant - this image was taken from around 15kms horizontal from the summit, and about half that distance from its initial rise. Taking elevation: 4700m, so ~3000m below the summit. It marks out the junction of Tibet, Nepal and India.
