Through the window of our Airbnb, Napoli (Naples), Italy.
That first one for some reason struck me almost as a bird fashion photo (intended as a compliment). Something about the “pose,” colorful plumage, and impossibly sharp eye.
I came across a lovely grouse on the trail and managed to record a detailed image of the patterns and color in the plumage. Not 100% sharp across the frame due to depth of field with the 100-400mm lens but still wanted to share it here.
Definitely not my best shot, BUT I was sooooo excited to see this little head pop up for ONLY a couple of seconds... I ALMOST missed it... the blackflies were brutal and I was getting ready to head home..

While I swore I did not need or want a 50GM, one now sits in my cabinet. I have made similar proclamations about the a1: massive overkill for my shooting needs. While true, one of those recently joined my cabinet too. Oops.

Don't worry.You are not alone.I also talked to myself,that 2xA7R2 plus a6500 is more than enough and ended up with two A7R4A+a6600.Same story with G 200-600,though regarded GMs 70-200/2.8+100-400 just fine.And GM 50/1.2 no matter I have 50/1.4 ZA Planar as well.And so one,and so forth.
