Great images Derek. Love the first one!
Dale...quite a bit of pop from the 50 Elmar!
Took the CV Nokton to work today...all macro images taken with said lens and a 7mm NEX extension tube. The magnification gets quite big!
Gregg
Maybe 2.8 or f4
Shot at 1.5, this lens gets really, really magical this close and WO

The A7r is a great camera for the bushwalker in Australia. I used the 24-70 ZA and the Touit 12mm, not in APS mode, but cropped later to give about 15mm FOV.
The real issue was the white balance, had to use a WB card to get it right.
These are new works by Thomas Ruff so called Photograms in the tradition of Moholy-Nagy.
Placing objects directly onto photo-sensitive paper and expose them to light. Although in this case computer programmed light. http://www.smak.be/tentoonstelling.php?la=nl&y=&tid=&t=&id=579
(The reflection of the TL tubes on the works was somewhat irritating)
BTW The work on the left is not square but rectangular. Wide angle effect.
Beautiful afternoon at Rainbow Bay, Snapper rocks at Coolangatta. A7s and FE 55/1.8 First two are with 35 Lux FLE. I was fortunate to be asked by a children fashion designer from England with her model, to take some shots for them.
I am really liking the A7s There are quite a few improvements over the A7r, such as a more sturdy battery door. The SD card door also seems to be more solid. I suspect the A7s will be my main work horse.
Charles, I like your shot of the surfer and the birds on the beach. It's nice to read your thoughts about the A7S, because I'm contemplating adding this camera to my A7. It fixes a few things I dislike about the A7:
- It has the ability to shoot totally silently.
- It focuses to -4EV.
- It doesn't have the sensor reflection issue.
The very good ISO performance is a nice bonus.
What's still holding me back is the 12MP and the price (paying a premium price for video features which I never use). I shot with the Canon 5D for years and 12MP wasn't a problem, but I got used to more now.

Totally agree, I was never impressed with the high iso performance of my A7. ISO 3200 is the highest I'd go, 6400 doesn't cut it for me. If all 3 models were released at the same time last year, I would probably have bought the A7S. I hate the loud shutter too, have been yelled at several times on the street. To be honest I find the sensor reflection issue unacceptable, AFAIK both the A7 and A7S have a low pass filter - so they did manage to fix it? The only reason why I'm not trading my A7 for an A7S is because I'd make a huge loss on the A7...
btw Charles, thanks for mentioning the flimsy sd-card door. I thought it was me, oftenly find it open in my bag... so I can blame the door?
Trying out a 10mm extension tube on the "mini Otus". Not quite in the real macro range, it is more like 1:2, I would say but it performs just fine in that range.

Yes, I think the shutter is too loud for street shooting. People really notice you. I've never had that problem with m4/3 cameras. It's one of the main reasons why the A7S interests me.
It seems like Sony really fixed the sensor reflections. It's mentioned in this review: A7S review
