Along Jordan Creek, not far from the Pedestrian Bridge and Ford, Trexler Nature Preserve, Schnecksville, PA.
These two images were captured at a cliff face rising above the Napo River in the Amazon Basin of Ecuador. These parrots/parakeets, there could be 7 species, eat clay that would help them digest toxic food. This is one of the two locations in this region; the other one is inside the rainforest, where the lighting conditions were really bad.
I had to use a high shutter speed to get sharp images due to the boat movement and yes, cropped by quite a bit. The first image was cross-posted but the second of a flying blue-headed parrot has not been posted previously.
