Blackwater River drains Canaan Valley, one of the largest wetlands in the state and home to the Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge. The color in the river is tannin from the wetland.
Nice one! I need to get out to Blackwater Falls SP to get some winter shots. I have been there only in fall. Beautiful area! New River Gorge is another favorite of mine.

People like criticizing the transition rendering of this lens, but even at the most extreme setting here, it looks acceptable-ish to me. (if you are not at the MFD or VERY NEAR infinity it usually looks much better than this & remember the cropping is also highlighting the harshness)

Near the intersection of Loch Valley Road and Stony Ridge Road, New Tripoli, PA.
People are different: some prefer single shots, some prefer stories.
I belong to the later type of species))): to do photo stories is a lot of fun.
The story I want to share is about one of the best (for me) camera-lens set-up one can have: Sony A7 first generation plus Zeiss 35 2.8 lens.
This combo is so light (A7i does not have IS, the lightest Sony FF) and small, that you can just always carry it with you. But IQ-wise Zeiss 35 2.8 is trully special lens.
All images below are jpgs straight from the camera without any post-procession. While I'd rather prefer to change all of thee images slightly, off-camera jpgs are the best way to evaluate lens-body combo.
My personal opinion: unbelievable quility for weight and the price!

Compelling and wonderful images of your family, I assume and others... I am also a fan of that tiny lens and it weighs next to nothing. I have to admit that I haven't used that lens for a while but I am not considering selling that lens. The only drawback back then I remembered was the price... a tad too high for a new one although the price has adjusted itself now.
