The gatehouse of the 19th C Raglan Barracks in Devonport was retained (preserved is probably too strong a word...) but tucked away between a housing estate and sports grounds. This was taken immediately before sunrise.

Well that was shot 2 days ago, handheld at f/5.6, 1/400 s, and ISO 100.
I used DxO PR for demosaicing, then Capture One Pro 2022 for generating the jpg image.
Well I got my NEX-5N in 2012 and the FE 50/1.2 GM last fall.
That lens is amazing, as well as the post-processing software used.
My image proves the tremendous progress achieved in the last decade on both fronts.
Now the image was shot in sufficient to good light and not cropped.
Indeed 16 MP of an old APS-C sensor and camera is all that is needed here IMHO.
If the scenario is different, I will rely on my Sony A1, in particular when encountering poor light, fast action, and not enough reach provided by the lens used. However, shooting with my old NEX-5N occasionally is a lot of fun, as it is pretty small and light and still in excellent working condition.

SPECIAL GIRL AT SPECIAL PLACE
The place is just above Kantara Castle in Cyprus. The history of the fortress starts even before the First Crusade and includes Richard the Lionheart, Knights Templar (who converted it into Kantara Castle) and Guy of Lusignan. The view from the place is breathtaking as well as the heritage of the place.
