Thank you very much, Jim! Optically, that lens is just about perfect for me. I wouldn’t take that lens on an extended trip but for local usage, I gladly put up with the weight and size.
I have been enjoying your urban images from your new hometown. You moved away officially from CA, right?

Shot through some flocked Christmas tree branches with a little hi-key twist
I was happy when I stumbled on a stream frozen over. The ice patterns were so cool. I spent over an hour photographing this area. This section was still in shade and had a nice blue hour color to it.
All handheld since I am still waiting on my RRS L bracket for my a1.
Cross-posted in the landscape forum. These are all shot with the A7R4, 24-105mm f4, ND filter, and 20-30 second exposures. Hilton Head Island at Coligny Beach. Software effects added in Photoshop and Nik plug-ins. I tried to capture the serenity of the beautiful sunset and calm skies that we enjoyed tonight.
