Phillip: beautiful light. Btw, I see a large amount of black dots in the bokeh of that second one. It looks like your sensor is very dirty, but maybe I'm wrong.
Purchased this lens locally on craigslist along with an FDn 24/2.8 for $75. (They came with a Canon AE-1 and bag). Both lenses looked hardly used. The seller was telling me these old film cameras aren't worth much anymore and these old manual focus lenses are difficult to use. I just told him that I'm getting into photography and learning all that I can. After seeing Phillip Reeve's pictures with the same lens, I had to test it out.(Unfortunately all I could see were the weeds on the edge of my property. So, I can't do this lens any justice.)
This lens is silky smooth and my first push/pull one touch zoom. Not sure why these went out of style, but I like using it to track the kids
What I like about the CV 50/1.1 in these conditions is that you can keep a decent shutter speed without ISO going off the chart. Last one was 250 @ iso 1000
For social stuff 125 or 250 is so much more reliable than 60 ish-- at 50mm anyway.
Great landscapes Bob!
Jim...the CV 40 does great BW jpg's sooc...I bet that boot/new watch shot would look fantastic in BW!
Uhoh...the last time I used the CV 50 1.1 was with an NEX 7...looking at your shots makes me want to try with the A7!!

Very cool score! One tip, you might want to ease up on the JPEG compression for your images, as they're showing some pretty bad posterization.
