A few shots from today. The spoonbills are rarely seen in our region as they are birds of the south.

Thanks for the terrific images, so different but excellent in their own way.

Thank you very much, Birdie. Your spiders shots are something else, I won't even try.

A few more from yesterday morning, all heavily cropped.

Photo taken at 8:47 AM.

Looking at Dark Hollow Falls. A storm had dumped 16 inches of rain on the Park weeks before and the water was abnormally high. But, without the leaves of spring the image did not have the softer and more diffuse light.
Cropped from top and bottom, tripod mounted A7r and Leica M WATE set to 21mm.
ISO 50, f8, 1/6 second.
Exposure Corrected +0.39 Stops.

October 19, 2015
At Dark Hollow Falls, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia.

By the way, my first time photographing these falls was back in the spring of 1992. That image is the second image:

"Dark Hollow Falls, Shenandoah National Park" Looking at Dark Hollow Falls.
Tripod mounted Linhof Super Technika IV 4" X 5" Camera and Rodenstock 90mm f6.8 Grandagon N MC lens.
ISO 50, f45, 6 sec on Fujichrome Velvia 50 film.

Early May, 1992 (I believe May 2)
At Dark Hollow Falls, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia.

Rich

Last night, Aberdeen held its second "Rain Glow" festival of lights. Grunge meets glow in the alleyways and streets of the downtown area. I love this Batis 18 wide open -- first time I've shot it that way, hand held.

I went on a hike in the Perth hills, I decided to do a couple moody edits. I am never too happy with pictures of the Australian bush sadly, they seem to lack atmosphere. After that we popped by a dog park around golden hour, the A7R3 did ok, it's likely my inexperience with action. If the dog started running and I had focus, it would do a pretty damn good job of keeping up - if the dog started running when I didn't have focus it would not be able to acquire it on the move. Maybe in the long term an A9 might be better for park/action.
