* A steady hand on the wheel always helps. There is quite literally no future in bus travel in my outings. The DL's portrait did a lot of jumping around.

This CV 15E lens certainly provides great imaging -- great color and flare/haze control! I seldom need wider than this.

Some shots of Mt Augustus in Western Australia the largest rock in the world, two and a half times bigger than "Uluru" and said to be about 1650 million years old.

Nice. I prefer Ayers Rock (the name, not the rock).

Can you get close to it?

Thanks Bob and I agree about the Name ( but what can you do )

Unlike Ayers rock which you cannot climb now ( cultural reasons like the name change ) Mt Augustus can be climbed but it is a 12.5 Kilometre round trip and the drive around it is over 50 k's, it's a bloody big rock

Cheers Ray

Thanks Jim. Great shots. Where is this and when?
Here you are not using your A7r4.

That's in Aberdeen, Washington, just yesterday. The alley has been being spruced-up a little in anticipation of this Saturday's "Glow Festival", a nighttime lighted festival around downtown art installations and activities. I'll try to attend and get some pictures (with a faster lens, of course!).

PS -- Good catch on the a7R4 getting a break! I wanted to compare the two lenses, Rokinon 14 and this CV 15, so I shot them on the two a7R2's I own. If I had one more a7R4, I'd have shot two of those instead. I was impressed how much faster the files uploaded and were manipulated in LR, compared to a7R4, especially where I did one 2-shot pano composite. Wish the a7R2 (and 3) had better EVF for MF -- images are great off the 42MP sensor.

Many thanks Jim.
That area looks so different from your typical images of houses with lush green and colorful vegetation.
Different but interesting.

I still have my A7r2. Great for those kind of shots.

Thanks again, K-H.

Don't see many hummers around here, little ruby breasted female coming out after a rainstorm. Needed a bit more DOF to nail the whole body, lesson learned! R4 + 100-400

Scott, you might have done better for this shot with your newly acquired Canon R5 and 100-500.

In all seriousness, the hummer in this shot doesn't look like it was in focus, aside from the DOF issue.

Looks like it front focused on the wing to me, in line with the leaves just under the left wing. F8 would have fixed it, like most problems
