Some shots of the Independence Day fireworks in Washington DC last night, taken on the Virginia side. For those who are not familiar, the building in the front is the Lincoln Memorial, the building in the far back is the U.S. Capitol, the Washington Monument is in between.

Btw. I see that you have the CV 35/1.2. How do you like it? Now when I mostly use the 75mm I want a good 35mm. I still have the old CV 35/1.7 and it is fine, but sometimes I miss the look from the 40/1.2, so I'm thinking about replacing the Ultron with the 35/1.2.

Helena, I had the Voigtlander Nokton 40mm f/1.2 for a while, loved it even though I didn't use it much. Sold it for the CV 35 f1.2 soon after it came out as I prefer it a little wider. Haven't really used the 35 much either. From Fred's review, the 40 f1.2 and the 35 f1.2 are very very similar, it really comes down to one's FL preference, IMHO. Now some folks have moved on to the shiny new CV 35 APO f2. I don't have the eye to appreciate it like some experts. I will stick with the 35 f1.2 for now, it's so cheap on the buy and sale board, less than $600, crazy.

Since illegal fireworks have been an issue over the last several weeks, we figured we were in for a show from our house this July 4th. I climbed on the roof and saw fireworks everywhere with my 85mm, including some that were too close for comfort. I loved the long exposure at the end of the series.
