Thank you very much, Ronny! I had to crop that image quite a bit... . I can’t wait for the A9 III with 50MP stacked sensor .

Your squirrel image with a bad hair day made my day!

Surprisingly, after getting 7Artisans 75mm/1.25 earlier this year 75mm has become my favorite focal length. It's a great lens, but somewhat large and heavy (610g) and nearly impossible to use when the sun is in or near the frame. Since I often shoot into the sun this can be frustrating. Now I have finally found a Voigtlander 75/1.5 VM for a good price and it arrived a couple of days ago. After a few quick comparisons I have mixed feelings. As you can see from the photos below weather hasn't permitted me to try shooting the it into the sun yet... Some other first impressions:

CV 75 has busier bokeh and deeper DoF even when it's at f/1.5 and the 7A is at f/2. Also, the 7A75 has an "old school" rendering (slight glow etc.) which I find very appealing. CV75 has a more modern rendering. It is nice and light though, much easier to focus and for some subjects I prefer the different rendering. So, I'll probably keep both.

Some first shots with the CV 75mm f/1.5 VM:

Helena -- Beautiful shots with your new CV 75!

I can see what you mean about it having a much different rendering than the 7A 75. But some of my favorite shots from you have been with the CV 40/1.2, so perhaps this new CV 75 will be a good companion on those days you like the 40? Maybe you are inclined to a bright/sunny set, and an overcast/dreamy set of lenses? Either way, your shots are always wonderful to see.

Got some filters (for the first time...) and visited familiar ground to give it a go. Have a Kase circular magnetic set - 'disappointed' that the 82mm hard vignettes on the 24-105 at 24mm (did I say that it's my first time with filters...)

From a walk along the beach near our home yesterday evening. Because of Covid-19 La Jolla seems to have become the "staycation" evening picnic and walking destination for the San Diego area. The coast walk, the beaches, and ocean front parks are as crowded as I have ever seen them. Even more crowded that the traditional Summer Holiday weekends.

This was the sunset light show for all those escaping to the the La Jolla Beaches yesterday evening.

This is a three bracket shot for blended in LightRoom.

Enjoy.....

Cross-posting from Sigma thread. Just got my Sigma 105mm macro last friday and went on a walk with my lovely daughter and finally got to use it in better lighting. Gotta say this is one sharp lens with sublime rendering.

Terrific set of winter imagery, Helena! I envy the snow you have, would love to have some more in our region.

Two recent shots at the same location in different morning. Not much else to shoot now other than birds, sunrise/sunset,
