At Lock Ridge Park (the site of an old Iron Furnace works), Alburtis, PA.
I suppose I'll have to consider this tree each year as the "Harbinger of Autumn." It comes into color early, and makes a beautiful display.
Colors are aided by the rust-gold color overlaying the meager sunshine, the result of the tremendous fires producing smoke in the western United States. Fog rolling up the Chehalis River also softens the effects of the sun low in the sky in late afternoon.

Took this picture at sunrise few days ago, the smoke from the wild fires on the west coast traveled all the way to the east coast and was hanging at above 25000 feet for several day. The sun just looked so unusual.
