Yesterday we went to a local watering hole "Happy Hour" inside bar. What a great time....saw friends we have not seen in 6 months. When we got home it started to pour rain, but we wanted to sit on our deck for a night cap. My wife, Sharon, put out our awning. It has a remote control. It started to really pour, so "the Man of the House" decided to put the awning out further. "The Man" pushed the button the wrong way, and the awning came "IN" and everything, including us, got soaked. To make the best of a bad situation, I got my camera and made this. Life is a gift, "Carpe Diam"

Cross-posting a few images from the recent "crazy orange sky" day in San Francisco.
Was not sure about white balance, but 4800-5500K looked like about what I saw, this was just so far out of the ordinary. Based on the blue tint in the headlights/shop windows highlight that may have been even a tad cool. But it looked just as unreal in person, maybe even more so because it was also quite dark, maybe 20% or less of normal light level, even at noon.

I went to photograph the 9.11. light tribute in DC and Arlington, Va last night. The cloud ceiling was very very low so the light beam "hit the ceiling", didn't get that soaring into the sky look. But I am glad I went. I don't recall they ever did the 9.11. light tribute in DC area.
