Lots of birding lately (and dragonflying) just to get a handle on what the A7R4 is capable vs the R3. Hint: it's far more capable! All taken with 100-400GM
As an aside, I can't say I see the main noise and "faster shutter speed requirement" complaints of the A7R4 in the field. I shoot it almost identically to my R3 with better results than I ever got before. Deep cropping (to the same pixel count) seems to retain details better on the R4. Very happy with the upgrade.

Unfortunately not this time
Was the first time I photographed these Kingfisher
and I had the hide in too bad a place
I was on a steep slope so I could not photograph the water surface, unfortunately there were a little too many who were in the same place and had put their hide everywhere
Maybe next time
though I might not have gotten any good dive pictures anyway
this kingfisher is fast .. like a spear
