I posted some images of a male hooded merganser that caught, subdued and finally devoured a large crayfish before. Two weeks later, there was this merganser, I am not sure whether it was the same guy or a different merganser that caught another crayfish. For sure, it was a different crayfish and it was smaller with a thinner and translucent exoskeleton. The semi-backlit situation accentuated that...

Thank you very much, Dan! Well, here is the continuation of it then. This time around, the merganser was in the process of swallowing the crayfish.... BTW, it took the merganser some time to get to this point as it struggled with a sizable meal.
Who knew so much was going on just above my back garden! The other day, I was looking out my back window and noticed a bird perched on the wire that I didn't recognized. I ran for the camera and G 200-600 ( never know with this lens on the A7RIV) Snap snap and of course the bird takes off within seconds. Little did I know the brown bird ( later identified possibly as a Brown Thrasher?) was fleeing. I had no idea what would occur during the next few seconds. Right as the brown bird fled. I figured I just missed another shoot with this lens but suddenly in swoops a Swallow-Tailed Kite! Wow...don't fail me now G 200-600 ! And it's not over yet...All the time I was trying to get a few snaps of the Kite, I was hearing something buzzing/whirling right over my head...I pointed the camera in that direction and looks like someone else was trying to get a few shots of the Swallow-Tailed Kite too!
All of this in a matter of seconds of spotting some brown bird on the electrical wire above my back garden! Good thing I got off the sofa. Oh and about that G 200-600 on the A7rIV...
Again a trip to České středohoří (Czech Republic)
This time Velemín town to Milešovka hill to Ostrý hill/ruins and back to Velemín.
A7iii and Sony 24-105 and Sigma 100-400 C on MC-11.
First decent ride out last Sunday following easing of 'Lockdown' - to Kilpeck Church in Herefordshire, reputed to be one of the most perfectly preserved Norman - Romanesque Churches in England. Still closed for the moment but many of the features are outside in the form of the carvings and Corbels.
Walking the beach when storm clouds approached from the mainland stranding us on the beach and a small boat out in the water as the storm passed over. Luckily we were able to find shelter inland.
Can't decide which I like better. What do you think?
