From this morning - a male peregrine falcon. How do I know that it is a male falcon? He has on the top of the female while mating . The female is barely out of the nest now. The eggs either about to hatch or just hatched. He is providing food for the family now. He flew in one time to the nest really fast with a prey that he just killed but he did that completely unannounced at an angle I didn't expect. Of course, I missed the action completely. After a while he flew out and perched here for a few minutes, digesting his breakfast.
The nest is at a cliff under the bluff I was standing on. It is completely hidden. BTW, I posted a few images here previously but the slope in the background now has some yellow flowers.

10 Likes if I could just for capturing the tongue sticking out! Over all great image as usual
Oh, my fault. I think it optically better than the 70-200 f4 OSS which I've already owned. Sharpness and CA is better. Bokeh and flare are just ok, not special (for my taste). I love the color rendition of the Tamron more than the Sony's. And sometimes I do miss the OSS and internal zoom on the Sony's but it's not a big deal. Overall, I love it.
A couple of shots that I took today from another one of my favorite locations. The second one is my first attempt in over 30 years of doing black and white; can't decide whether I like it or not.
Looking at shadows of trees "reaching across the road" to 2 trees and beyond bathed in late afternoon light. The moon is seen near the upper right corner of the image.
