Giant I dont know, but big it is. To the left Contax 35/1.4 and to the right the FE55. The 35/1.4 breathes quality so while sizes arent that different it's heavier.
Some images taken yesterday late afternoon and as the sun was setting in Orefield, PA. The first image was taken with my tripod mounted A7r with my Minolta CLE MC 40mm f2 M-Rokkor lens and the other 3 images were taken with my tripod mounted A7r with my Leica R 28mm f2.8 Elmarit, V2 lens. All images processed in LR 5.5

Comparing some 35's gives another perspective.
The only one I know I wont sell is the big one.
FE35/2.8, CV35/1.2II, CY35/1.4
Great comparison shot, thanks - that is very large, relatively speaking!
Another one from the Minolta 600. Hard lens to use and not that great optically, but occasionally I can extract usable images from it. This one is a fairly heavy crop.

That looks fun, I've never raced competitively but I love mountain biking. It's surprising to see what looks like a few 29ers out there - mine drives like a truck and isn't what I'd call a fast bike. Then again, maybe I'm misjudging and they're 27.5ers.
And also then again, I'm not an excellent biker, so I'm sure there's improvement in speed to be had with my 29

My 35mm is not comparable with others better lenses here but for less than 200 euro it is my best buy till now
A7r with Canon FDn 35mm f2
Manuel I'd have to argue and say it is comparable! So far I've really enjoyed everyone's 35/2 shots both here and in the FD thread. I was taking a hard look at that lens before I picked up the FE35 for a decent price - I needed the AF occasionally (especially when others use my camera), otherwise the FD35 would have been my 35!

Agree. It may not possess some of the magic some of the faster lenses deliver but from what I've seen I find several of the FD's desirable.
Great PP yet again Ronny, you gotta teach me someday :-)

Sry absurdly large image, but I figured it would pass on most screens without FM's dreaded magnifying glass as it is portrait mode.
My son's last day at school, carrying 25 goodbye candy bags to his classmates. Though this is around 33% of the full image (length-width) the 100% crop share equal per-pixel sharpness. I dont like AF but here it added versatility from my perspective. FE55/1.8
