That's a great image of the falcon, Greg - I love it, Greg!

Staying in the same falcon theme, this is a female falcon that took off from the ledge after being drenched by the rain. I got wet myself, too but I kept on shooting. It was only water anyway. Those larger specks are rain drops and the tiny but mostly well defined are droplets from the falcon's feather as it flew at a high speed. This was from 2 days ago, BTW.

Thanks Joshua! Trying to find time to sort and process the rest of the pics from yesterday. Hoping to get some more processed today and before everyone gets tired of seeing pics of falcons.

I've been waiting to see the pics you took from the other day and the wait was worth it! Great action shot. Braver than I would be to stand out in the rain. The rain drops are an excellent addition to the image.

Thank you very much, Adam! It was froma regular long exposure. The actual dynamic range of the scene is still wider than what the Sony sensor could bridge. I am okay with the smallish and slightly clipped highlights here and there but I don't like the rusty colored outcrop of the rock formation right at the red building. It can be addressed in PP but I didn't feel like messing with it at this point. Thanks again!
I’m a little surprised some lighter parts are not overexposed given a 30 second shutter, only at f/8. I don’t have an ND filter yet and have tried similar scenes that end up needing composite/HDR to look right. But yes it worked out very well here, excellent. A place I hope to visit someday that I missed on a trip long ago.

Fred, why did you have to go and post this! I keep telling myself that 15mm & 16mm is plenty wide enough.
Gas Attack!
Spectacular image! Focus stacked, or did f13 give you all that dof?
Yes, I have the 14-24/2.8 and Loxia 21 but when I want wider, the CV 10/5.6 is pretty good at f/11.
I usually don't focus stack with this lens when shooting at f/11 or f/13. It's enough DOF for me.

First day with an A9. I didn’t buy it for “birding”, just went out for a drive/walk with an 85mm and 15mm. This is a popular pond people walk around here. Not known for Eagles!
