One thing that I have been working on in the field is being still and seeing the landscape in a different way. I squint and focus and sometimes, scenes emerge that I was not expecting. Such was the case when I saw this aspen tree with its bright bark catching some nice side light, surrounded by pine branches.

At what I believe may be the connector or lower portion of Round Lake in the Round Lake Wilderness Area which abuts Little Tupper Lake at the William C. Whitney Wilderness Area. This is in or near Long Lake, NY in the Adirondack Mountains.
