1000-year old Lamayuru Monastery, Ladakh. The formations in the foreground were the edge of an ancient lake, one wall of which eventually collapsed into the Indus Valley gorge. Shot with a Minolta 200/2.8 APO.

Manuel, those images from Riomaggiore are excellent! That copy of the Minolta 35-70 Macro seems to be a great performer.

Thank you Joshua, looking at this wonderful image of Florence seems I lost a good occasion... I will try to recover in the future

Ricordo molto bene questi momenti.
Thank you also to you Peire. As already noted in one of your precend post, your Italian is great That's very interesting for me so when I decide to visit your country you could be the tourist guide for me and bring in those nice villages that you have often captured with your fantastic images

Manuel: Amazing take on this classic scene.
Joshua: That close-up of Florence with the Batis is very nice. Looking at all the tourists on the bridge, it seems you made the right choice of picking a different spot.
Helena: You always manage to get the best out of artistic lenses.
Jim: Are you going to keep the 40 1.2 after all, despite the different rendition (compared to your Zeiss glass)?
100-400 GM at 400mm wide open. I should have brought the 200-600, but only had the 100-400 with me. Oh well.

Thank you, Manuel! Yes, we missed you there... The blue hour image of Manarola you captured is really wonderful!

Thank you, Chris! I did get some images of the Old Bridge and you are right, I like the other one better...
The white-eyed bird from Japan made it across the Pacific somehow. I photograph that bird at a local wildlife sanctuary recently. And your image of that bird is excellent!

During the Mask Carnival 2020 on San Giorgio Island just across the lagoon - the ball also shows a little bit of the behind the scene there although distorted in a big way. And yes, I did use a monopod that day.

Those Italy shots from Joshua, Manuel, and Roberta are just amazing. In the meantime, I have to make do with the birds on my deck. A few from this morning.
