I love the wing spread of the trumpeter swan. It was fun watching how they use their wings and their chest puffing to attract a mate or ward off intruders.

My friend, Paolo Favalesi during the Mask Carnival... FYI, he was wearing a pair of special contact lenses to create that look.
Hi Joshua, what an amazing costume. Can you say you are satisfied with the R4 and shooting people? Does it perform ok with low light conditions as well?

Thank you! For the carnival activities, yes! But for portraits when people's face is not covered, I would rather go for the A7r III. The resolution of the A7r IV can reveal a lot and sometimes it appears more like "right in your face" look. The noise level is a tad more pronounced although it is a 61MP sensor relative to a 42MP sensor. I have been running the files through Topaz Denoise although I am paying more attention to artifacts that could cause those weird phenomenon that you and Jim noticed previously. Luckily, that was more in the even background areas of the files and not on the model itself.
This image is from a trip to Bryce Canyon two years ago. I had hoped to take some Milky Way shots with the galactic core rising above a couple of unique rock formation one early morning 2am - 4am but the horizon was blocked by heavy clouds in the the South and my planned composition would not work. Fortunately, I had a backup composition that I used with this rock formation but not including the Milky Way GC. This is a composition of two images the first rock formation was taken shortly after sunset and the sky image was taken around 3am the following morning. The clouds were coming across the sky as you can see in the image from left to right and within 30 minutes from the time I took several sky shots the stars were completely covered by thick dark clouds.
Looking at a side and backlit Great Egret in breeding plumage.
Cropped mainly from the top and slighly from the bottom, tripod mounted 200-600mm G set to 600mm and A7rIII; silent shutter.
ISO 100, f6.3, 1/200 second.

Thanks, I wonder when you resize the image to e.g. 30mp, if the files are cleaner. Going to japan in a few weeks, I am in doubt if I should add a 2nd body for low light people photography or that I would be just fine scaling down the image and applying NR.

The actual difference in the noise level is is not that much if resized to the same size. For sure, it is not visible if viewed for the web, like on this site. The resolution of the 61MP is just so amazing and it is addictive . Do you have the A7r IV or III or?

I have the R4 delivered to me today if DHL doesn't lose my package this time 😆
Also have the Sigma 85 1.4 art (EF) on the way. (I was in doubt if i should have ordered the 105, but the size/weight issue made me go for the 85). That lens, according to dxomark seems to perform even better, so i hope that it'll do great on the R4 on the mc-11.
