Thanks Ronny.
I thought you already had the 10040GM?
Hard decision I know 100400 vs 200600.
You fly a lot and for that the 100400 has a huge edge. More important for you, the 100400
is pseudomacro capable moreso than the 200600.

I have 100-400 GM and I will keep it
the question was if I should get 1.4x converter and only have it for 100-400 and birds
or if I should have 200-600 and both 1.4x and 2.0x for birds
would like to make a more serious commitment for bird photography
then I don't want to invest in too many things directly if you don't think it was fun
the question is if I have patience for birds and hiding
Impressive macro series, Ronny.
Stephen: Very nice waterfall shot. The waterflow looks smooth as silk. I wish I had the time to take a few waterfall shots this past fall.
Douglas: Nice series two pages back. I really like the sunrise shot with the morning fog.
Joshua, Mitesh: Great birdie work. I'm more impressed that the 200-600 is usable with the 1.4x TC than the 600 GM's performance with the 2x TC, even though that just shows how far we've come. And to think that during the a-mount days, Sony never bothered to update those old Minolta TC's.
