Bleeding Heart Aracari about to take off... Well, I didn’t have the A9 and the angle of the take off was not favorable for my A7r IV to pull it off. The subsequent frame showed only the rear half of the bird . I didn’t even react fast enough to change the burst to 10FPS... Oh, well.
Great clichee pic Bastian, but since when is it this empty there?
I always found it too crowded actually - otherwise a very beautiful, almost magical place.
Will be there in 12 days - going to check it again I guess...

Bit of a cliché view by now, especially with model, but doesn't take away from the beauty imho.
Looking at I believe a Maple Tree in Brilliant Autumn Color.
Tripod mounted A7r and Leica M 90mm f2.5 Summarit lens.
ISO 100, f8?, 1/125 second.
Exposure corrected +0.48 Stops.

At a picnic area, Shenandoah NP, Virginia.
First snow storm of the season and continuing all day today so had to get out this morning. Don't judge the sharpness of either of these lenses since it was snowing sideways and gusting between 25-35mph and it is very exposed at this location. I was hiding behind rocks. It was fun though
Nubble Lighthouse 135GM f1.8 , 1/160 sec, ISO 800
Nubble Lighthouse#2 Samyang 45mm F1.8, 1/50 sec, ISO 100
A rare glimpse of autumn colors here in Dallas...we typically get a burst of color for about 2-3 days and then all the leaves unceremoniously fall off All shot with the R3 + 100-400

I have been here in the Summer, always wanted to get back when it is Holiday decorated, I know what rocks you were using for protection, likely a slippery place to be!
In the one full width shot to the right of the lighthouse the end of the land there looks like the face of a giant Snowy Owl
I stumbled upon a sad result during one of my photo walks around the general neighborhood in Aberdeen. Here is a photo of a house I'd posted nearly two years ago, followed by the "burner-downer" I came across. Too bad to see such a nice home turned into a ruin. Maybe it will be rebuilt, or torn down. I'll post something later to show its ultimate fate.
A couple more abstract shots from a rainy day in SF. I was trying to get a feel for the Samyang 85/1.4 and 45/1.8.
I am not into portraits and (edit: ) _don't_ need ultimate sharpness for this type of shooting but I'm happy with both lenses, I prefer the 85's rendering over the 85/1.8 FE, imo it's "gentler" (though not less sharp, and it's not just DoF either). I really love my Contax 90/2.8 and it's "crunch" but the Samyang is more versatile and I can even justify owning this lens for occasional use.
Plus it's light enough to carry around on multi-hour walks as one of multiple lenses - I could even just stash it in my jacket's front pocket when not using it. It's really fun for street/city type shooting actually, you can really isolate people when you find interest, or stop down and have great contrast/sharpness for abstract building/detail shots.
These wild places are usually better shot in what most call 'poor weather', but this one was pleasing - it's superb kite territory. Kyirong town, South Tibet.
