These two images were taken yesterday, the day after Thanksgiving after a major rain/snow storm in Los Angeles. For a minute or so, the reddish/orange light of the setting sun right behind me, as shown on the second image, was reflected on some of the buildings in Downtown Los Angeles...

Wow, Joshua! One of my favorite views (Kenneth Hahn Park?), and I've never seen it with all the clouds over the city, only snow covered mountains and usually the day after a big snow. Great planning and execution -- once in a decade or two opportunity! Congrats and well done.

Thank you very much, Jim! Yes, you are correct about the location. The cloud formation is unusual and the way the setting sun rendered that color is also something special. I believe today would be another opportunity to take pictures at that location. I am not sure whether you are currently local or not. Of course, the clouds won’t be the same but it may be worth another visit.

Thanks again,

Thanks for the info, Joshua -- I know there is dramatic and turbulent weather hitting most of California. Ironically, I am basking in full sunlight up in Washington near the coast with around 48F and not near to So Cal for another week or so. Please keep posting these sorts of striking So Cal images if you can!
