Well two lenses arrived to much excitement late yesterday afternoon (Zeiss Makro Planar 100/2) and today (Contax N 70-200). Unfortunately I found the Contax has a faulty AF/MF switch and rotating the aperture ring in MF mode elicits no change in aperture at all - bummer The seller has agreed to a return.
Anyway into the garden I go to get a few practice shots in with the 100/2 .... I'm going to love this lens, can't wait to use it for landscape and portraits too
Grey and overcast isn't a bad thing for macro but it did affect the handheld shutter speeds when trying to shoot at f8 (and I couldn't be bothered to bring out the macro rails & flashes), most of these are taken at f2.8 (the aperture doesn't show up in the EXIF). So here are some shots of the smallest flowers I could find :
Zeiss Touit 12/2.8 - a lens like Cinderella.Looking inconspicious and feeling plasticky, with crappy rubber on the focusing ring.Turning a princess once mounted on a camera.
Better than it's FF equivalent, the Distagon ZF 18/3.5 with all respects, but built quality.Optically at least as good as the Distagon 21/2.8.Here on the A7:
Peire - I was real curious how that 12 would do on the A7. Are you using it in crop mode or cropping in PP? If you are doing the cropping, is it a little wider than 18mm equiv?

Ryan, I recently bought a 12mm Touit lens mostly for my A6000. If you use either A7/A7r and crop in PP, you get a little bit wider than 18mm. I venture to guess somewhere more like 17mm or 16mm at the widest. I would say that image circle may be even a tad wider than that but the baffles are in the way . Oh, well. Still not bad considering that it is an APS-C lens and at a recently reduced price even.
What do you do at the perfect sunrise location with everything setup, when a wedding couple approaches you for permission to use that same spot for their wedding photo?
Get angry?
Get in the way?
Its a once in a lifetime thing.
So I let then use the spot.
Using the opportunity to add something to the pict
'Stole' the flash off the couple's photographer by dragging the shutter.

Would you have any FF images you could post prior to the crop ?

My intention was to use that lens on the A6000 exclusively but I took some test shots with that lens on the A7r the other day but I set the automatic APS-C option on. I played with it a little and turned that option on and off and did some viewfinder guesstimating only but I didn't take any images with that option set to off. I am about to log off today and go to my son's place and won't be able to do so until Friday. Please let me know if you still need some comparison shots by then.

Which lens is this? Contax C/Y? I like the rendering, sharpness, and color.
Yes, it is the Contax C/Y. I am just now getting comfortable with the lens. I tend to use wide angle lenses and this large push-pull zoom is a whole different experience in picture taking. I have disciplined myself to take this lens out by itself to get to know it better. I too like the sharpness and rendering. It is quite impressive. Now maybe I can stop looking at the new Sony 70-200 and be satisfied with my $230 Craig's List purchase.

I use it in crop mode.Haven't compared FOV so far.It is very sharp across the frame and has negligible distortions.Corner semaring is acceptable at f5.6.I know that constructing lenses for smaller formats is easier, but I'm impressed by how good this little Touit performs.
