Found this praying mantis in my parents' garden in Japan. I waited for her to climb onto a red maple tree so that it would be a nice contrast between the green. She was actively tracking me, and reaching out with her front arms at me, perhaps protecting something.

Great image. In my backyard a Praying Mantis killed a Hummingbird and was feeding off it.
