I headed over the Manhattan Bridge to lower Manhattan and Battery Park today, not realizing that there would be a lot of extra people and activity related to this week's upcoming 9/11 memorial. At one point, about 1,000 motorcycles came down the FDR Drive, the NYFD saluting them from the water and fire trucks. It was loud. Kind'a choked me up. I'll never forget that day (I was literally driving down the West Side Highway as the planes hit), so I decided to post a little tribute to the Freedom Tower. All photos taken today. The light and clouds were amazing!
All A7ii + Samyang 135mm f/2. I am still astounded at the depth, color, clarity and sharpness of this lens. ALL at f/2. NO extra sharpening or clarity added. Just my "normal" processing in LR. The lens did 90% of the work.
From the Manhattan Bridge on the Brooklyn side.
From the Manhattan Bridge on the Manhattan side.
NYFD Fire Boat in the East River "saluting" the motorcycle parade.
I've photographed the Freedom Tower hundreds of times, but this may be my favorite.
