Beautiful shot! Joshua, my 600mm f4 mkII is arriving Monday. It's reassuring to see your great work with this lens and the A7R3. I know it won't be as responsive with AF and tracking as the new Sony 600mm, but for around $6400 I'm getting a great alternative that should handle 99% of my subjects. The 8.4 pounds of weight will be a small price to pay for such an optical beast.

Thank you very much, Stuart! That lens is optically superb and I don't believe the Mark III version being any better in that respect, just lighter and more easily manageable. The AF performance of the Sony GM, being a native lens is without any doubt would beat this lens adapted to Sony cameras hands down. But at half the price, and being optically excellent, it would be something that is easily find a place among Sony users, I would say, as long as we know its limitations.

Enjoy your lens, Stuart!
Thanks Joshua. I'm hoping it might show up Friday but more likely it's Monday. I've got a vacation coming up where there should be ample opportunities to see shore birds and other wildlife. The timing should be great.
