Accommodation. Two home stays, very cosy bedrooms and safe with the spirit trap outside the bedroom to deal with local ground demons. Inside #1 is a side room stable for a cow for winter opposit the loo; and a rocky roof to bang your head on. No one could believe the star brightness/clarity here (another good thing about winter).
It started getting gnarly around here, only the grader and a few vehicles drove this road for the past 6-7 months. That's why the gravel is fresh and scattered around. Good how the BRO leaves downside rocky outcrops every 50m or so, where they can. The scree looks not too bad, we got another 500m before it looked real unstable.
Took another walk up to the bogs and forest, but this time it was raining. Not very pleasant , but I like the mood it gives photos.

Great set Jim and the colors are lovely as always. I especially like the last one.
Thanks Helena! I love your last series in the rain with the CV 40/1.2!
I like that last one too -- I expect Galadriel's mirror is just beyond that gate. I like that vibrant green as well -- in the first image I desaturated the green, but after comparing to that last shot, I'm going back to set it as I had before posting, and reposting the revised copy. Thanks for the feedback!
Last month I popped over to Uluru for a few days, and the combo of little light pollution, winter, and new moon made for some pretty awesome astro opportunities. This image was a pano from several 15 second exposures with the Loxia 21. Some day I'll bother with stacking and all the proper astro photography techniques, but for now I'm pretty happy
