Tried to take some pics off out back porch of the local fireworks display. My wife made me stop as I was blocking the view of some of our late arriving guests. Oh well. Managed a few pics anyway. All with Leica R apo 180/2.8:
Looking at Snowy Egrets in breeding plumage.
Tripod mounted 100-400mm f4-f5.6 GM set to 400mm and Sony A7rIII.
ISO 100, f5.6, 1/250 second
Exposure corrected +1.79 Stops

Some firework shots from last night, this is the first time I did any sort of planning and research on how to photography fireworks. I picked a location where I thought would be nice backdrop for the fireworks but as soon as the fireworks started, the buildings were obscured by the smoke.

I posted a similar image to this one, showing only the two trees and the field in the horizontal format. Here are the two trees but in vertical format showing the area beyond them...
Thank you Jim! I have shot sunrise at that location many times. the Sony 100-400 is perfect for that. So this time I only brought that lens with me. I didn't expect the fireworks would reach so high. I wish I had the 24-105 with me as well. Next year maybe. This is my first time to go to see fireworks in DC after living in the area for 23 years.
Helena -- Perhaps you have found your perfect lens in the VC 40/1.2! It certainly provided you with the tool for this terrific set of images that really show off your style. Very impressive body of work you are developing.
