Thank you very much, Chris! I believe the last time I took of that spot was in 1990 and indeed, I used slides back then, too.'
A very enjoyable cherry blossoms image there. I believe the season is winding down by now...

Well, we still see a lot fields of yellow mustard flowers here is Southern California....
Wonderful shot Joshua!!! We have all these amazing prime lenses and yet often the 70-200/2.8 work horse is what gets the shots, with the proviso in good hands
Same waterfall that I posted the other day but this time from the ground. I captured some nice reflected light on the wall that forms the arch framing the waterfall.

Lol while quickly scrolling down through the thread I first though this picture must be Joshua’s, playing with some novel headgear, then I checked and surprise surprise it wasn’t him It was like “sharpness, check, bokeh, check, contrast, check, color saturation, check, headgear, check, this is Joshua” lol

ps: This was meant to be a compliment of the highest order!
Rich, I am very flattered; thank you kindly!

Yes, at some point I noticed that the airbrushing / soft glow was kind of missing so I checked the poster’s name lol
There are a few posters with consistent style that I can identify with something like 90% confidence. Toshiro is easy but I also can identify Werner for example.
Yes, after a while one can recognize the posters's style of editing. Thank you!

Thank you very much, Charles! I had only that one lens for the photoshoot since I knew the hike down to the beach and especially the hike up was pretty steep. So, I had to be more nimble and flexible for that. I only used a flash with a simple modifier for fill-in and left the rest behind. For the flower field photoshoot, which we did afterwards, I used a reflector, white on one side and gold on the other. I asked the the make-up artist to help me with that .

Changing the pace now... I am totally blown away at the speed falcons can actually fly and how swiftly they maneuver themselves in the sky. FYI, their prey is...other birds. No wonder, they have to be very agile .
If I buy a 100-400, can I take pictures like this? :/

Rich, if you get the A9, and the FE 1.4X TC, plus the lens, of course, then there is a good chance you could. I am not kidding. The system will do it for you, well, almost. Set the A9 AF to either Wide or Zone AF with the tracking on and as soon as you get the system to lock on the falcon or any other target, you just have to follow the falcon around while it is doing aerial acrobatic, then voila, you get it!. You have to be nimble to be able to keep the falcon within the frame though but then the camera/lens combo will do the work pretty much for you. You practice a few times and you should be able to pull if off. For that you may want to handhold the system and set the shutter speed at 1/2000sec and using the Auto ISO to freeze the motion.
Although I prefer the result of my Canon 600mm lens I adapted on the A9 but that lens is heavy for me to handhold and on a tripod, my movement is much more restricted and AF-wise, the adapted lens is no match to a native lens, like the GM 100-400mm. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
A9, probly not gonna happen. my a7Rm3 won't get it, eh?
