I have a laowa in the mail. How do you find it for astro as this will be its main use? Schlotkins wrote:
Stage Harbor Lighthouse - north star as the replacement light. Sony A7r + Laowa 15 f2
As soon as the sky started to turn color, I raced across the playa about a half mile to reach this spot. Truthfully, I was just happy to find a rock at this point because my real goal was to reach a group of larger rocks but they were farther than I recalled. The light was fading fast so I decided to capture this scene. This rock is smaller than others that we found. It resembled more like a brick but there was some mud caked on to the side which I thought was interesting as was the long track it made.
With the start of the Autumn season in this part of the world we got some stunning sunsets with sky literally on fire! This was shot last Friday night in an area 30 min drive from Sydney CBD.
I really like the dramatic perspective of the CV 12mm, the last addition to my collection.

Very nice photo of the bascule bridge Jim! Indeed quite similar to the one here in Trondheim, which can be seen again below among other shots from a walk in the harbor yesterday with our local photo group.
A7II and Lensbaby Burnside 35.
A couple of trumpeter swan images. Taken with the A7III + Sigma 150-600 C and MC-11 adapter. Both 600mm, wide open and cropped (first one is a heavy crop). I got lucky on the copy variation lottery, this is my sharpest 600mm lens so far (2 copies of Tamron 150-600, 2 copies of Sigma 150-600, and a Sigma 120-300 2.8 OS + 2x TC in the past.)
The colors and overall look of the first two remind me of good quality medium format slides viewed on the light table. I miss those days. Thank you for bringing back the memories!
