Everybody in the city is off for the week. Beautiful day. Perfect day to walk the dog or take a stroll on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific with family and friends. Let's do it.
We saw our first Snail Kite two days ago and I managed to get this series the next day.
It is amazing that they see the snails while cruising overhead.
These are just a few of the series. It started when it looked like he spotted something, but I won't bore you with all the shots
I need to hire one to gather snail for escargot!

All shots are with A9, 100-400GM and 1.4 TC, shot at 560 mm.
Sorry for the bandwidth, but this Great Blue Heron was just too much. It sat there like it had its hands on its hips, with elbows sticking out.
The water in the background is the same water flow that the Snowy Egret was sitting on top of last week. Even though this is a later day, I suspect this is the same Heron that was in the background last week.
I captured some cedar waxwings yesterday and I came back for more but they were nowhere to be seen. So, I had to put up with this red finch that eats the same berries as the CWW. Oh, well.
After shooting the church that I posted here previously, I just knew I had to go back with a lens that would give nice sunstars. So I went back tonight with the Voigtlander 40/1.2.

Very cool, Bob.
I don't remember ever seeing so many (and such nice) sunstars!
Took some friends out today and did Christmas photos and also did some headshots for our academic and professional webpages (someday we will all have jobs, lol).
