Our Lady of the Lake University behind the cormorant and egret colony at Elmendorf Lake in San Antonio. This one was tricky to edit since I wanted to bring out the subtle color in the sky and texture but retain the long exposure in the water while keeping tonal values in check.

Interested to know the basics of how you did edit this lovely image.
The white pelican scooped up a big, no, a huge fish! It struggled for 10 minutes in an effort to swallow the fish. Its entire body was shaking, and trembling, trying to push the fish down the gullet. I have never seen a pelican swallow that big of a fish. Of course, everything is relative. What a show for the morning!
FYI, I crossposted these in the N&W board, as well.

Thank you for the interest and nice comment. I did my foundation edits in LR (tone, color, lens, and post capture sharpening) on my 3 selected images (base, long exposure, and under exposed). I took those into PS CC and used luminosity masking to recover blown highlights from my base layer using the under exposed image. I use Lumenzia for this. I then blended in manually the bottom portion for the water from the long exposure shot. I cloned out dust spots from a stamped layer. I then exported to Color Efex and applied one of my recipes consisting of pro contrast, detail extractor, and darken/lighten. Back into PS CC. Then finished it with some dodging/burning and final output sharpening. It was about an hour's worth of work.

Thank you for the explanation! It gives many of us something to aim at in terms of nuanced post-processing!
The image is very lovely, and the work you did with luminosity, blending of exposures, and the other fine adjustments all tell in the effect on the viewer.

Fantastic work as always on this page. Christmas at the Carolina Inn with the Samyang 35mm f/1.4. Like most folks I'm pretty impressed.
Looks great.
Is this the AF version?
I had a MF version and my copy wasn't nearly that nice.
