Too bad your A7R is broken. And taking a spare body is always a MUST.Looking at your bright, colorful and spacy pictures of the relatively recently restored Russian churches I imagine how would the ancient Byzantine shrines in Constantinople look like now if the Turkish conquest hadn't taken place.
The first time I didn't take any and s**t happened. Oh, well . The service center called me today acknowledging the receipt and according to the friendly representative, it would take them a week to 10 days to fix it. But they would call again when they are ready to ship it back. We will see....
I visited the Hagia Sophia twice and the second time around, I walked away even more impressed than the first time. I could only imagine how the interior looked like back then during its heyday. And, yes, how it would have looked like had the course of history been different.
Michiel, have you compared other Canon FD 135's? What is your preference?
No I didn't, because this is the only one I have. Most FD lenses are quiet good, so I think the others will be good as well for this kind of work (landscapes etc) There seems to be a 2.5 FL which is very sharp, I red.
I could buy this one years ago for a good price, it is a big hunk of glass but a very nice lens.
Thanks. The Leica is clearly the best 28mm I've ever used. But I intend to compare it quite rigorously to my other good 28's, especially the CY Zeiss 28mm f2.8.
I'm not rich enough to keep this lens over one 1/7th its cost if there's no difference in the ultimate image quality.
Have done only a little comparing so far, and the Leica is clearly better in the extreme corners than the Zeiss. Haven't yet compared bokeh, flare resistance, close up performance etc.

If you use Adobe ARC make sure to enable lens profile for Elmarit-R 28.
I am positive once you test it for landscaping at infinity and compare it at 100% magnification the differences will become clear.
Have fun with it.
Sony A7r with Leica Elmar 50mm F/2.8
This lens really saturates the colors. I had to look twice to be sure I had not bumped up the vibrance setting in LR. I don't use this lens much because it has a very distinctive look unlike any other 50 I have. I probably need to use it more to know what its best use is.

What it does when enabled? Looks like it just distorts/warps image somehow.
Leica Elmarit-R 28mm f/2.8 v2 @ f/5.6, 1/30s, Sony A7 @ ISO 100, B+W Circular Polarizer 55mm
