According to an app, the Milky Way would/should appear in the sky in the background at this location. Great! So, we planned to stay at Convict Lake to capture some MW until we dropped . Initially, there were only some fluffy clouds and the sunset painted those clouds beautifully reddish as in the first image. We knew we couldn't see the actual sunset from this point. But later on though, the clouds became thicker and thicker and the wind died down after that, too. The second image was captured approximately an hour later. It was basically pitch black, just the long exposure and higher ISO yielded that image. Oh, well. The astro photography plan went down the drain and we went home shortly after that shot.
First experience with the Zeiss ZF2 Distagon 15/2.8.Very unusual lens.Allows to get wierd perspective.Only 10 deg wider from 18/3.5 Distagon, but significantly different. The best UWA I have had so far.
