It would be very interesting to hear you say more about your own feelings about the lens and how you think it has affected each of the pictures and made each different from how it would be with a normal lens.
Thank you! This is the problem; I can't really figure out my own feelings since they are so mixed. The main feature of the lens is swirl around the edges, since it's based on the Petzval design, but (fortunately) it only shows up with the right background and light. Otherwise you just get blurry edges, which can be used to draw the eye straight to the intended subject and give a look of older less perfect lenses. It also has great colors, contrast and sense of depth.

Helena - You have a knack for finding wonderfully appropriate compositions for each of your lenses, IMO. In fact, I had that exact thought when I was looking at your Monolens images a few minutes before coming across your question. Speaking only of the lenses and their effects, I like your other lenses more than the Burnside, but your subjects and compositions bring out its best aspects. I say "keep using the Burnside" when you feel it's the suitable choice, and if you can't decide, perhaps try identical compositions with it and your other 50mm and then compare the results.
Thank you very much for the kind and helpful comment! Much appreciated.
The Monolenses are my favorite "special effect" lenses because I love the old style look. I rarely post Monolens stuff here anymore though, since I found other places where they more into that kind of look.

From our cabin in Sweden. When we were having breakfast suddenly two young foxes turned up. One of them came up close, so I took a photo through the crooked old window.
#2 is from C/Y 28mm/2.8 and the rest C/Y 50mm/1.7.

Got photobombed at the park. I liked the pic, so I showed her parents and I ended up doing a mini session. Laowa 15mm and Samyang 35mm - wouldn't have been my first choices for this kind of work, but hey.
Toccoa Falls again but this time the weather started to turn for the worse. It did provide for some nice atmosphere though. Shortly after I grabbed these shots, it started to rain.
