I went over to see the Formula E electric car races today in Red Hook, Brooklyn. It's only a 30min walk from where I live.
Unfortunately, I didn't do my research, and the actual race wouldn't start for a few hours after I arrived. I was already melting from the heat, and there was no shade on the grounds, so I just walked around, took a few photos, then went home to watch the race on TV with the A/C on full blast!
I might go back tomorrow closer to race time. A Grounds Pass is free, and there were a lot of great spots to photograph the cars during a race.

Fantastic shots on this page. Ronny, love those flowers, and Phillip, I can't imagine how you got so close...
Long exposure from this morning.
There are a lot of very very talented photographers here. I so enjoy seeing the excellent photos in this thread. It shows me how much growth I need. It is a real joy being here!!!!
There is one Sony FE lens that impresses me but I don't use a lot is the 50mm f/1.4. Unlike its little sibling, the 55mm f/1.8, this lens is big and heavy. Yes, at f/1.4 it is faster lens alright but the difference in speed should have not translated into that much weight and bulk addition. And that's the reasons it stays home most of the time but no, I am not selling this lens. Each time I use it, not only it doesn't disappoint, it puts a smile on my face. Sony must have used some kind of magic formula for this lens to perform like this f/1.4 lens.
Two completely different targets, lili and Lilly, but both were captured at wide open...
I gave up dreams of having small setup w/ Sony. I feel I wasted big part of 2018 spring and beginning of summer shootings while desperately trying to get Loxia 25 working for my shooting style and subjects, but it's just too wide for majority of my forest scenes.
And I think it was a good decision, I have really enjoyed now shooting with 28-50-135 combo, with which shooting flows naturally. Now I have been shooting some weeks with Sigma 24-35 f/2 (using it as 28mm substitute), Sigma Art 50/Sony Planar 1.4/50(Alpha mount)/Carl Zeiss Planar 1.4/50 ZE and Zeiss APO-Sonnar 2/135. Sometimes substituting 135mm with 85GM or Alpha mount 70-400. More or less only downside is the weight, but I compensated by moving from small photo bagback (I mostly used LowePro ProTactic 450) to F-stop Sukha, and long hikes have been pretty easy with larger and better backbag.
Sony Planar T* 50mm F1.4 ZA SSM (Alpha mount) @ f/2.8, 1/20s, A7R @ ISO 100, Haida NanoPro MC C-POL 72mm
Carl Zeiss APO-Sonnar T* 2/135 ZE @ f/2.8, 1/30s, A7 mkII @ ISO 100, Hoya HD CIR-PL 77mm
