How many animals can you find in this picture?
See the following for the answer.
Actually, it was a pretty sad sight. This was at the Audobon's Corkscrew Swamp. Up until last week, Florida has been still very dry from the winter/spring. Since it is the Audobon's site and they want it to be natural, they did not interfere with nature, as should be.
Vulture: There were actually two of them, one on the right out of the frame. Waiting for food.
Snake: We believe the snake was delirious or blinded by the mud, as he kept trying to eat the fish, but could not find them, even when they were in his jaws. It was hard to identify the snake, because of the mud. One time it shook the end of its tail giving us a strong clue that it might be a rattlesnake, but other snakes do this, too.
Fish: Yes, those little things in front of (and all around) the snake were fish that were somehow still living, flopping around.
Fly: Can be seen in the crop.
Alligator: At first we did not even see the gator, because the snake was moving around trying to eat fish and got our attention. The gator did not move for a long time and then it wiggled its tail, to show us (and the vultures) that it was still alive.
