An American Classic Car Show - a sure sign of summer. Every Thursday night throughout the season, these and many other cars are on display at an old local burger drive-in. It's great nostalgic fun and perfect for the FE 12-24/4

Where does this happen?
I may try to get to it at some time.
Nice! I seem to get the same terrible results from this terrible lens.
Having said that my last trip to Patagonia I packed mostly MF primes. This was a very tough hike to reach as there is no trail at all to this lagoon - it was scrambling over boulders and steep inclines last couple of miles. A7r + Pentax K 28mm f/3.5.

We were trying to photograph a pair of motmots in the jungle in CR. We found the bank where they nested but not only the lighting was horrible but the vegetation was very cluttery. We tried different positions for about 30 minutes or so; maybe I took some 100 images at ISO 12800 until we decided to move on. We walked maybe for 5-10 minutes and there was a clearing in the jungle and on one of the long branches, there was a motmot under way better conditions in terms of lighting and background . It was fairly close, too. I ended up getting close enough to remove the 1.4X TC. All the previous 100 images or so ended up in the trash. And here is an image of the last motmot then.

Father of the beau grabbing a nice shot of my daughter and his son, David (who is working on his PhD at UCSF across the bay), and me quickly grabbing him. :)

Very nicely done, Joshua. Sometimes a bit of luck helps
Thank you, Zorro2016 and yes, you are absolutely correct! That's the way of bird/wildlife photography works. The problem was, at least partly, we didn't see any motmot on our first trip to CR. So, when we encountered the first ones, we got excited and went a little bit overboard trying to capture them. We thought that we just wanted to go home with some motmot images, no matter what. But at the end, we ended up getting better images.
Dave and Hoa, wonderful images from Patagonia. It has been on my radar for a while....

Congrats to the proud father and of course, to your daughter for her accomplishment, Jim!
