Thanks Michiel! And oh indeed, love the Deux CV though it may not fall into the speed monster category. More tin can, and beautifully captured with one of the best short DOF car lenses available :-)

Thanks for the praise. I still have ways to go as far as skills are concerned.
As others have suggested, if you want a jack of all trades kind of lens, the 55 1.8 is as good as they get. The other two candidates (the Otus and the new Sigma) may be even better, but their weight and size (even if we ignore the Otus' price tag for a second) would result in a system that is neither light nor small anymore.
I didn't have to push strongly the red : when I saw the scene from my bed, it was surrealist enough. Very low clouds, and our proximity with the Paris periph' (a circular highway ring around Paris) did color with a full moon relatively blue.

Great shots and a very good optic, indeed. Many old FD are impressive. My son got a 85/1.2 in Japan. It is stellar.

Impressive. I don't own an A7, but it has me thinking that FF mirrorless is the direction that I'll be moving, sooner rather than later and your examples are making me want to pick up some FD lenses before mirrorless really takes off and FD gains more attention.
Been occasionally visiting this thread and impressed by the great variety of images and contributors from all over... While I don't shoot with an a7 or a7R, had the chance to use both for some time over the winter and am just getting caught up with some of my personal work backlog, including these shot with the a7R of the ice storm aftermath around Christmas...
All with the 55/1.8 wide open (gotta love 1/8000 and good highlight retention when an ND filter isn't available). Had to defringe the last two somewhat in Lightroom, though I suppose there is still a trace of it in the last one...
Eric - I remember the FD 35-105/3.5... I used to have one along with an AE-1P and New F1. Seemed like a good lens, but I remember having a lot of trouble focusing it.. it just didn't snap in the focusing screen. I guess an EVF and magnification should help with this.
Straight out of the camera JPEG. I don't have any editing software on my laptop. I don't think my laptop could handle it lol So strictly JPEGs for me right now
The Canon 50mm shot I wasn't actually focusing on anything at all just put it to closest focus so that the background would be entirely out of focus.
Barely have time to shoot anything never mind processing them, so I have more than a few weeks worth to edit still...
Some shots of my new Konica 21/4 on my A7r, colors seem nice, contrast is fine, seems sharp enough right out to the corners.
