Thanks Bob. Much appreciated.
I am always impressed by your variations of the theme "Boat Houses on Lake".
Thought on my mind, what will Bob come up with next?
While waiting for the owls to get active (but they never did) in the afternoon yesterday, I noticed a small yellow bird that lended not to far away from my location. Of course, I aimed my setup at that bird and here is one of the images I took. Again, even using two extenders to get to 1,120mm, the lens impressed me. Yes, the cropping ability of the A7r II helps, too. Too bad the AF is not up to par but just fine for this target.

Here is a shot with A7r2, FE 100-400, 1.4x TC and plenty of time to focus.
But I was losing too many shots due to focus hunting, low frame rate, and slow buffer emptying.
So I prefer to use the A9 in situations in which those things matter. https://photos.smugmug.com/KHW/Pics-by-Date/-1/i-4WSwN6Z/1/c5954ef5/X3/DSC00616%20Hummingbird_2700x2700-X3.jpg
Sony ILCE-7RM2 + FE 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 GM OSS + 1.4X Teleconverter @ ISO 1600, FOCAL LENGTH 560.0 mm (560.0 mm in 35mm). APERTURE f/8, EXPOSURE TIME 0.00156s (1/640)
Hit up the tall ships festival in Dana Point yesterday. Both shot with the FE 24-70/4. Not the sharpest lens out there and one I am considering finally selling. But that range is something that's nice to have in a zoom for times like yesterday, when I did not want to carry too much gear and kept it simple.
Some from today--a few flowers and then a quick visit to Oakland Cemetery. The flowers were moving too much--Irma is coming--so gravestones were easier!
