This thread is depressing. I was about to post some photos after a long absence but after seeing the level you guys are shooting at I'm reticent. Incredibly photography from everyone - too many to call out by name. Please keep them coming. Maybe Fred can start an FE image thread for those of us less talented
I was not online on the weekend until now.... and tons of wonderful images were posted here. For uneasy feeling of skipping folks that have posted them, I would rather salute everyone that did.

I still have plenty of images from the lavender fields but I won't be posting them too often anymore. Here is one the last ones for the time being.... Thank you for all the thumbs and kind words posted for those images.

Please don't be scared... I quote Bob, this thread is better than any photography course and there is place for everyone
Then you could help us to reach our next goal... 3000 pages
Manuel -- sadly, all those brown trees on the valley floor are dead from foreign beetle infestation, made worse by the extended drought. The dead trees help feed the forest fires up and down California.

Thanks I guess you are referring to partially burnt trees... I saw many burnt trees at Yosemite and my travel friends explained me the fire hazard is very high because the falling lightning.
Sony Distagon T* 1.4/35 FE @ f/5.6, 1/40s, A7R @ ISO 100, Hoya HD CIR-PL 72mm - 3 horizontal frame handhold panorama
Zeiss Loxia 2.4/85 FE @ f/8.0, 1/60s, A7 mkII @ ISO 100, Hoya HD CIR-PL 52mm - I originally needed "short tele which works well with standard sensor", but at the time I could not find Loxia 85 from Finland, new or used. Instead I found used Sony GM85, which you may have read "between the lines" that I'm not very happy on all aspects of it - techically great lens, but very flat rendering style. Last week one used camera store got Loxia 85, and few hours later I had it (and I had lost yet another Zeiss ZE-series lens...). Loxia 85 is as exactly as I expected based on samples here; very similar subtle (for a Zeiss lens) rendering style as Contax/Yashica mount Sonnar T* 3.5/100, a little less bold&rough as Contax G90. I decided to keep GM85 as I like it's technical "perfection" quite much, just need to find a "pair" for it with similar rendering style with shorter focal length.
Great last page everyone. Stellar grabs from all!
Continuing on my Contax 28 kick. I think I'm going to be for awhile. Something about this particular copy has me jonesin to explore more wth it!
