Agreed! It is a do everything great sort of lens--so sharp with great bokeh and apochromatic and fast and small (tho not very light). I doubt we will see Sony make a 180 that is as good or, if as good, certainly not as small!
Thanks Stephen, the Leica R 180/2.8 is certainly very special.
The image you took with it seems more life-like to me than the ones taken with the other 2.
Sharp, great colors and bokeh are its hallmark.
But I am partial to a few exceptional Leica M and R lenses anyway, for example the Summilux-R 80/1.4.

K-H.
I used to have the Leica M 75/1.4. Special lenses indeed tho a bit tricky to employ. The GM 85 is a bit easier to employ with Eye AF. If only the makers of TAP could crack that code, thanks for the clarification of your post. Thx for the opinion. It is helpful.

So true, however with the TAP and 80/1.4 I can nail the nearest eye pretty much effortlessly.
Classic Rolleinar MC 105/2.8 made by Mamiya has waited nearly 3 yeas for it's first outing, but I found it a very good lens overall. It is small, full metal, has a built-in hood, takes 52mm filter and focuses down to 1m.It has lower contrast/shapness plus some negligible CA wide open, but is stll very usable there. Needs to be stopped down 2f stops for optimum performance.Colour rendition good but not outstanding.

Love your shot, Kierzkow! Everything is just so... right. Or would be if you hadn't taken it with a lens I love to hate. All the more reason to congratulate you!
MedicineMan, you should have seen the look of admiration on my face! And with the 24-70 too. The mind boggles!
And all the usual suspects, of course. You'll know who you are....
After sunrise in Paris, sunset in Paris. Still Otus 28...
Thank you, especially because this is not you favourite lens. C/Y 35-70/3.4 never lets me down.
Gregg, super shots with the FE 50!!! Kierzkow, another 2 winners! Daniel, very very Wow!!! Austin, nice work! And Bob, as ever!!! And Joshua!!! And Werner!!!
