Dang it Joshua... I'd largely suppressed my desire for that lens, then you go and post those shots, and it's back...
Nice shots, good theme for this board. Seems to me that first guy isn't likely to be happy with his though. 0.6" at 16mm... OSS isn't THAT good...
Matt, thank you! While the lens can render some dreamy images at wide open but if stopped down to f/4 or smaller, it can function as a very capable landscape lens. I posted two images previously here: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1255248/2265#14083412. The person that I bought it from claimed that he liked the Version I better than the second one. He sold the second version after the comparison and kept this but his interest changed and put it up for sale. I read about similar claims on-line as well. So, I ended up getting the first version.
Interesting. I owned the V1 previously. Did some comparisons between it, the Ultron, the ZE 35/2 and C/Y 35/1.4. I actually really liked the Nokton but talked myself into keeping the Contax. Finally sold the Contax as it wasn't really seeing use and I just couldn't get on with it. Thinking about picking up a Nokton again. I hadn't read people preferring V1, and was thinking about V2 as it seems the onion rings are less pronounced and some claim it's a hair sharper? Otherwise agree at f/4 it's good and sharp into the corners, and fares better than the Ultron in this regard.
Sigh... GAS... Time to start shopping...
Completely unrelated and getting back to the theme of the thread, shot from a Rollei 50mm f/1.8 Planar. Simple scene but I liked the morning light. Great lens too, sharper to my eye than the 55/18 stopped down, with pleasant color and contrast.

I first got V1 of the Nokton and I was really disappointed by the lens. It was way less sharp than expected and well there were those onion rings.
So I sold it again in favor of V2, and it was ahead by far. Well at least sharpness wise, and those onion rings are a little bit less pronounced.
So compared to what people say on the internet about the versions I would say there is a quite siginificant sample variation for the first version, where there is like none for the second one. Also I guess a good sample of V1 should be about as good as V2.
Interesting posts about Voigtlander Nokton 35mm on previous page... thanks to feed my GAS
Really curious to see new 35mm f1.4 and 40mm f1.2 which will be released in a few months.

There could be copy-to-copy variation, indeed. This is my only copy and the previous owner swore by it The notion of the first version being better may have to do with the fact that Voiglander discontinued that version only after a fairly short period, citing the unavailability of certain glass elements. Somehow that made it more desirable since it is in limited supplies and more sought after. Who knows how real that is but so far, I love the rendition coming off this lens.
Here is an image from approximately 2 years ago taken with an inexpensive lens, the FE 28mm f/2.0 at wide open and at a fairly close distance. I am counting my blessings coming from the lens gods for another great copy.
From inside the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. I've been there several times but every time I go, I feel like I relive my life through music.
I wouldn't count on the Nokton E-mount 35/1.4 and 40/1.2 lenses being released in a few months. The Macro Apo-Lanthar 65/2 yes, but I suspect we'll have to wait until later in the year for the other two lenses.

Joshua, thanks for the kind words! Lovely flowers, too!
Bob, Cleveland is a city lucky to have you sing its visual praise!
Manuel, super set!
And Daniel, Danny, Werner...
