Excellent grabs all!
Continuing my beach posts. Since it's about the only other place I go these days.

I like the composition of the 35 better.
Me too, although possibly if the 21 shot was from a lower position and slightly further forward the composition might have seemed more similar, in which case I might have liked them both equally (not that I really know what I am talking about).

Joe, welcome as an IR shooter and poster, very nice.
My A7R is 720nm.....
Thanks Werner! I've been an IR shooter in one form or another since my film days. How does the 16-35 play with IR? I'm having an interesting time finding E mount lenses that work well (on an 830nm conversion anyway). I do have others I can adapt but I'm trying to go native mount. I'm hoping the new 12-24 plays well with IR...
The 16-35/4 is good with IR (720) as is the 24-70/4 but both are not perfect. So far i have not found a perfect native e-mount for IR. The Batis 25 is good and the 24-70 GM as well and i used the 70-400 Sony a lot with good results.
It all depends on the light and the aperture etc....
The old lenses designed and made for IR will be the best but i don't have one ...
Werner, I can't congratulate you every time, but I assure you, every time the thought and admiration are there.
Mike, I'd love to know how that superb shot came about...
Well, duh. I'd assumed that this thread was for Sony lenses, and since I don't use them, I had nothing to post. I happened to look at it today, and found that's it's for any and all lenses on Sony cameras. Yeah, that *is* what I use! So, plenty to post.
Here's one (admittedly recycled from another thread) that I shot a few days ago. A7RII with Meyer-Optik Trioplan 100/2.8. Unlike its well-known bubble bokeh images (triggered by bright points of backlight), in soft light it makes gorgeous watercolor-like backgrounds when they're the right distance behind the subject.
I have a friend who likes to fly and we went up last night and headed down to Mount St Helens. We went down there with two lenses and my a7r2. My friend who was also shooting had his 5DSr and 24-70.
I was in the front seat, wearing all black to reduce glare. Kurt basically flies wherever we need to get the shots we want. I had the camera set to internal stabilization and the MF lens set to infinity. When I shot out the side window, glare creeped in but shooting through the curved front glass cut it down considerably. I watched my shutter speeds to keep them above 1/300 as much as possible.
I got about 1000 RAW files and so far about 95% are keepers...
