How do you like it...are you using the MC-11 or another adapter?
MC-11.
My current impression, after about 2 weeks:
After initially thinking that the weight might be cause to return it, I'd now say you can pry it from my cold, dead hands. The images people are producing are stunning.
I liked the IQ so much, I bought a 50mm Art, and let go of my beloved, and much more manageable FE55 ZA.
Sigma really seems to have hit an (unexpected, IMO) IQ home run, with its Art line.

Since I'm thinking of selling a few lenses I looked through what I have and the Rokkor 58/1.2 and C/Y 28/2.8 caught my eye, so I decided to bring them when I had a dentist appointment in town yesterday.
Didn't have much time, so I went to the harbor which usually offers some interesting subjects. I found Deep Energy fascinating, especially the back part which has an almost ridiculous amount of detailed machinery. Deep Energy was constructed in 2013 and is one of the largest pipe-laying vessels ever built.
Anyway, I really enjoyed shooting with a 28mm again and the C/Y is as good as I remembered it, so it's a keeper for now. The Rokkor is great, but really heavy and I don't find it that much better than my CV Nokton 50/1.5 for most things I shoot and worse for some (flare and sunstars + weight of course), so it'll probably have to go eventually.
The light was special and really brought out colors and details to a point it almost look unreal.
#2 and 5 are from A7 + C/Y 28/2.8 and the rest A7II + Rokkor 58/1.2. ...Show more →
Thank you, Helena! Wow, that piece of "machinery" is fascinating. And you pulled out the most out of it in your images - well done!
Here is another image while we were waiting for the storm to pass through....

Is there is a way to capture the name of the Contax C/Y lens and/ or
the focal length used on the A7R + Novoflex? I have six C/Ys so it
can get a bit confusing when 50-60 shots get transferred to the Lightroom.
If you just need the information, and you are not going to do anything automatic actions based on the information:
When changing lens take photo of lens, which was on camera before lens changed.
OR
Use notebook/your phone's slideshow program to make info page/image which tells which lens, filter etc. in use, and after lens change take picture of your notebook/phone.
If you need to use information automatically (e.g. use Exiftool to automatically add lens name, focal length etc. to EXIF):
Before the shoot: Create as many folders as you are going to have lenses. Make note which folder is for which lens.
During the shoot: When you change lens change folder where images are saved.
After the shoot: Add EXIF information folder by folder
PS. If you start looking your images 6 month after the shoot, it will be ever more confusing and next to impossible to remember what lenses you used etc.

It's a bit of a pain but can't you input the FL yourself in the camera when attaching them. At least you can then identify them in LR.
How is this done with his A7r?
With IBIS cameras like A7rv2 and A7v2 one can set IBIS focal length, but at least on firmware I had in my A7v2 spring 2016 this info was not written to EXIF.

I have the 50ART as well, and love it 90% of the time...I think I might need to get the MC-11 to see if it works better on that than it does on the MBIVT.

Thank you rico.
Thanks Frogfish
Thank you Samuli.
There is no perfect solution but at least there's been some progress.
I will also photograph lenses that have just been removed with new ones that replace them.
I did a recent promo photo shoot for my step daughter and her partner who are dance teachers. I don't have studio or lights. We used a work light, reflector and flash. The indoor shots are OK and the outdoor one are much better.
But the real story here is that I used the FE85/1.8 and shot about 500 images mostly at either f/1.8 or f/2.2. Eye AF worked wonderfully and I can't believe how sharp the images were. For as often as I shoot portraits, this lens is so awesome for its price point and beyond.

You should look into the Sony Camera App called Lens Compensation. You can create profiles for each lens, which you load everytime you change your lens, and the app will write the info in the EXIF data.
